CSF1 – Unit 4.5 Block Coding and Midterm

CSF1 - Unit 4.5 Block Coding and Midterm

Janeal Tyler, Computer Science Teacher

This unit is designed to introduce you to beginning coding.  Learn about algorithms and programming by using Scratch and Micro:Bit.

Students will work through this mini-unit during their independent work time.

Students are learning how to:

  • Create prototypes that use algorithms to solve computational problems
  • Evaluate and refine computational artifacts to make them more usable

Students are learning about these things so that they can:

  • Create prototypes (my own program) that use algorithms.
  • Use input and out in my programs

Students will know they are successful when they get a perfect score on the following assignments (Keep in mind they have unlimited redos):

  • AP-BC Question of the Day 10 pts Due 3/3
  • Scratch CFU 2 pts Due 3/3
  • Scratch I/O CFU 2 pts Due 3/3
  • Micro:Bit CFU 2 pts Due 3/3

Midterm Part 1 – 40 points Due 3/3

Midterm Part 220 points Due 3/3
